Garage Door Window Glass Replacement: Options and What to Measure

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Garage door windows crack, fog or yellow over time. Replacing just the glass — instead of the whole panel — is usually the economical repair. This guide explains the glass options and the measurements you need before ordering.

Glass Options

Clear, frosted, tinted and insulated double-glazed units are the main choices. For attached garages, insulated glass reduces heat loss; for security, laminated glass holds together when broken.

What to Measure

Measure the visible glass opening precisely, not the frame: width and height of the glazing pocket, plus the glass thickness. The insert type — snap-in, screw-fixed or integrated frame — determines the replacement method.

Panel vs Glass Replacement

If the panel skin or frame is damaged or the glass is bonded into the panel, replacing the whole panel is more reliable. Jusen can supply replacement panels matched to common garage door systems.

FAQ

Can Jusen supply replacement glass for any garage door brand?

We supply glass and panels for our own doors, and standard-size glass units for many common sectional door profiles. Send photos and measurements to confirm.

What glass thickness is normal?

Single glazing is usually 3–5 mm; double-glazed units are 14–24 mm depending on the frame.
